Things have been not smooth with my longtime accountant for some time now. We've on on some issues but they keep reoccurring liked missed bill payments and not reviewing my numbers with me monthly (yet still billing me!!!). He sees the writing on the wall, and now that taxes are done we need to have a talk. He's a great guy and we were friends (neighbors) first. I started by business with him as the accountant, but he was unable to keep up with its growth. I hope we can remain friends. What do I have to do to ensure a smooth break up?

I will get all of the business accounting information and books. Get a copy of all my files including taxes. Historic and current P&L, balance sheet, and accounts receivable files. Get all logins and passwords related to my accounts. Make sure he pays all outstanding bills. What else?
