Your post is in the lgbt thread. I am presuming that your current marriages are to the same gender as your hs friend is to you. If not this is a lot more complicated.
I assumed the opposite. That OP was a woman married to a man, as is her bff from HS.

If it is helpful I empathize with your situation but this doesn’t end well unless you are both prepared to end your current marriages and be with each other. Even then it doesn’t end well for your kids or current spouses. Is it worth hurting them?

Um. Nowhere! If you each have families it's a no. It's sweet to think back on the loves we had the loves we lost but you have both moved on with so much water under the bridge. Be flattered. Enjoy the memories and thoughts of love but neither of you are who you once were. Sorry OP it's not a long lost love story that you think it is.

best friend from hs and i recently reconnected after many years apart and are talking constantly now. turns out each thought the other was unrequited love. communication is flirty, fun, intimate and deep. we live on opposite sides of country and each have a family now. where’s this headed?
