Yes. I already work for the CU and was offered a position.
Oh boy. If you already work for the CU, then it's that much worse that you didn't know something that basic. Plus thinking you would get $200k for it? I also don't believe you can be an employee and BOD member at the same time. This can't be a real post.

Board members don't get compensated at credit unions. It's in the Federal Credit Union Act (section 12 USC 1760(c)) It states:
So, yeah, you're not going to get your $200 k or really, anything for the position.
(c) Compensation.—No member of the board or of any other committee shall, as such, be compensated, except that reasonable health, accident, similar insurance protection, and the reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred in the execution of the duties of the position shall not be considered compensation
