He was clear on the kids who got extra time. He didn't care but commented it was odd they announced it. It doesn't surprise me with this school. He should be getting more than he is but school refuses so not much we can do. I'm not sure if they randomly put him with those kids or it was a group of kids with SN or what.

That is really obnoxious about them announcing who got extra time.
We are in a different state, so the test scores are the only hurdle to acceptance.

I don't think the MAP test is timed. I know some kids got extra time for the gifted test in but they refused to give it to my child. It was in the same room as they split kids up into small groups of 4-6 kids according to my child and they announced who got the extra time. Even if the got into the cut off it doesn't mean that they will be selected for the program. About 40% of kids in MCPS or more tested this year. and the only take around 700 kids.

For the first time my 2nd grader has taken "high stakes" tests for consideration for the local gifted/ talented program. While I am pretty sure that he received his IEP-specified testing accommodations in the form of a separate test room, I am not certain he got extended time.
Does anyone have experience with how extended time is managed for these tests?
He missed the program cutoff by just a couple of percentiles, so I am weighing if I want to engage on this or not. He has ASD/ ADHD diagnoses so the fact that he isn't getting social skills instruction as specified in the IEP is a bigger deal.
But given that he has a 99% average across his classes, I feel like this might be worth addressing too.
