As a Pittsburgh fan living in DC, this thread delights me

Game 5 was ugly but it doesn't matter. Let's hope Caps can put them away tonight. Then the f'king Pitt.

Excellent game 4 for Caps. One of the better games they played. If they keep playing like that, no one can beat them. Go Caps!

Glad they finally won one game... I have to say they looked pretty bad, awful passes, stupid penalties, and sluggish... but I guess a W is a W.

We do have lots of young guys now. We are just aren't playing them (Vrana). Trotz is too focused on special teams although I guess he needs to be given all the stupid penalities which have helped squander two goal leads.

I just focus on the regular season. Most of the games are entertaining. I love the players.

Last season was the biggest punch in the gut for me. Now I just think, "what's the worst that could happen?" Kind of already has. No expectations.

This is one reason why Washington is not a real sports town. Fans of teams in other cities bleed their team colors. They may complain bitterly about performance, but they literally are unable to change allegiances, their attachment runs that deep. Ten years, gimme a break. Maybe DC folks are that enlightened, and can focus on other things and teams, but it makes for a dull sports town.

Agreed! Switched to rooting for the Golden Knights and it's so much more fun. Plus they play right off the strip in Vegas and have a badass logo.

Come September the Nats will disappoint too. It's a Washington thing.

Dude, this has been happening for decades. I grew up going to the old Caps Center, and it's the same old crap, year after year after miserable year.
