Invite one kid from each group. And invite the mothers!

You are actually trying really hard to get involved in an incomprehensible drama.

You can set up play dates for your kid without getting involved in the drama. If your daughter is interested in playing with that kid, then go for it. You can still make play dates with the other group.

I would definitely be paying my deposit for next year at a different preschool. Who needs people like this in their life?

I SAH and our preschool was awesome. Nobody acted like this.

Yes, I KNOW that but in setting up a playdate FOR MY KID I have to socially engage with the other mothers. If there is DRAMA or crap going on I DO NOT want to engage.

Which is why I mentioned the altercation I witnessed and the timing of the mom to suddenly set up playdates.

Does the middle school drama never end?

If you want to hang out with them, do it. If not, don’t.

Personally, I like everyone and would probably be friends with both groups. I don’t participate in gossip so if anyone starts gossiping, I just change the subject.

Question: I stay at home and we recently moved to a different state so thank you for reading this. My daughter enrolled a month and a half after preschool started this year. The moms in her class stay after school and socialize. But they have divided themselves up into 2 different social groups. The "leaders" of both groups have tried to engage me socially but I had a million other things going on at the time and was polite and nothing went further. Suddenly something happened between two of the mothers of the different groups and I just happened to be there to witness the verbal altercation. They then both tried to showcase to me that they were kind and nice people. Now one of the leaders is trying to get my number and set up playdates. If you've stayed this long thank you because this is really stupid. My question is that I am a no drama mom and I am wondering if you think the mom who is suddenly showing interest in me is doing so to "get back" at the other mother? Maybe they gossiped about me or something and she is trying to scare the other moms? This is stupid so I do apologize and should I just leave immediately after preschool if I am just not interested in all this? Thanks! How would you proceed?
