No, that's not what I am saying. We know Reed is going to be a neighborhood school, and that's it's close to many other existing schools. So which schools get an extra point on that chart for being so close to Reed?

McKinley's size would make it a good choice for a hybrid program. With both expeditionary learning and neighborhood walkers OP has an interesting idea.

Why? If they are truly looking at all schools, it should be considered. Don’t tell me how many kids can walk there. It won’t be the same high percentage as Nottingham. That new walk zone map shows Reed will have more than 2 buses. It is more centrally located than Nottingham. It is on a major road. It has better bus service for families without a car. Seem like a good option site to me.

Reed numbers aren't much better. A lot like McKinley. Good option site.

And it is so big you have to worry about it being under capacity. I guess if it were ATS that would be less likely to happen.

After making those families live through construction and then overcrowding the school out of sheer incompetence, I think the SB doesn’t want to touch that idea.

Political suicide after screwing them with overcrowding for years. I think you would see political action at that point, maybe even a lawsuit.

You must have missed the backroom deal McKinley has with APS. By supporting the Reed project they would keep existing as a neighborhood school. McKinley will never become an option school.

Haha these numbers are pretty interesting - did you have to poke the bear? I think McKinley and Ashlawn have the largest number of students who transfer to ATS. That would be a great program to put at McKinley since the nearby communities have such high regard for ATS.

I am not exactly sure why APS is protecting McKinley as a neighborhood school. It seems to have slipped under the APS radar for some reason. Please share your thoughts:

Hmmm...the numbers sure make McKinley appealing as an option school....
