What did you end up doing? How’s it going, op?

Agree - I would push for injectables for this round.

To PP: no, I have only tried clomid. I think what I'll ask this afternoon is what have we learned from the 2 failed / 1 cancelled cycles , and how do we change protocol for the final one to reflect that? and see what they say, and try and encourage something besides clomid. Helps to have ideas. Thank you!

Have you tried letrozole/femara? I didn't respond very well to clomid after my first TI round with it but femara worked better. My RE did a kind of rare protocol - instead of jumping to injectables (which he felt would give me too many follicles and lead to a cancelled cycle), he did a prolonged course of femara (so I took it continuously with almost daily monitoring until I had 2-3 good follicles, instead of taking it for 5 days and starting monitoring a few days later). I was NOT hopeful for that cycle but I got pregnant.

OP here -- This is my last IUI cycle (insurance mandated) I'm going to try before IVF, so I'd like to have the best shot -- I feel like just increasing the clomid is like a textbook protocol and they should think about trying something different since it hasn't worked, or even shown an increased production of follicles!

Honestly, I personally view IUI as a huge waste of time. I think hat insurance requires it before IVF since it's cheaper. I feel like it gives people such false hope.

With Colimd my lining thickened (which isn't good) and I had to sit out a cycle. Are you interested in doing IVF at all?

I didn’t respond with clomid or clomid + follistim. Those cycles I rarely ovulated and never conceived. What worked for me was the follistim/bravelle/fsh on its own. Conceived both cycles we used it.

I am going to meet with my RE today. I've had two failed IUI cycles and one cycle cancelled in between them due to follicles not responding. They have only been increasing the amount of clomid each time and I've triggered with Ovidrel. Do you think I should request a complete change in protocol? For example Femara and Follistim?
