I agree as well. And I have no clue where to meet the older, wiser women in person.

Maybe. It seems that there are some extreme positions like not vaccinating, attachment parenting, free range, etc. that lend themselves to judgement.

Yes, people who are social media are competitive and often fake. They worry too much about what other people are doing and what people think about their lives ( as presented on social media).

I'm 32 (mom of two) with a number of "mom" friends, all around my age. Some of us work, some don't, we have different opinions on sleep training, cosleeping, breastfeeding etc, but we love and support each other completely.

Nah - I've got an amazing group of mom friends. We encourage each other personally and professionally and try to get away together to maintain our friendships. Step away from DCUM!

+1 The mothers who post on the GP forum are competitive and as bitter as they come. Anyone who disagrees with or has any criticism of CIO sleep training, daycare, public school, toddler classes, and screen time is severely attacked and told they are a horrid mother. It is really awful. Also these mothers, in general, are suburban and not urban parents.

I am seeing that the 30 something parents in my neighborhood dont have the sense of boundaries that my generation had. They allow their kids to play in my garage if the door is open or set up their games in others driveways. I am still (but barely) young enough to handle but my retired neighbors are having a difficult time. Actual quote from retired neighbor "I will not be driven out by kids and dogs." Which I found rather sad.

This is a sign you're reading too much DCUM. In real life, they're much nicer.

I don’t find this at all. I have found incredible support and openness to different parenting styles/situations

Millennials have grown up with the back stabbing-ness of social media which makes relationships more challenging. At the same time many of them learned this from their mothers.

... are all young mothers competitive and unsupportive of each other? Maybe my old age is showing, but I don't remember it ever being like it is now. And the young mother's general parenting forum is the worst!
