My child's elementary school does them, and I refuse to go & ask the teacher for a quick personal conference instead.
I have zero desire to form a "parent team" and discuss strategies to encourage other parents how to help their kids. And I hate the verbiage saying that these meetings are "required" of parents.

I also find it helpful to have all or most parents in DD’s class in the same place at the same time because hat almost never happens outside back to school night and that happens too early in the year to know who anyone is.
That said, if I have concerns about DD or need more information, I just contact the teacher directly and set up a meeting. It has never been a problem.
Thank you PP. I guess at our school the whole class data is kind of hard to swallow because performance is so low. Perhaps there is nothing that can be done about it, but it makes me want to leave the school.

They don't share data/scores with students' names attached, do they?
I need privacy to ask questions about the concerns I have regarding my daughter. They did share scores (without names but it was easy to tell by people's reactions) and it's a huge bummer to me to see how badly many of the kids are doing.
So, set up a private meeting. And tell your principal how you feel about APTT. It's a grant program, and the school can decide not to participate in the future.
