I'll finish An American Marriage at the gym tonight. I've loved it.

THere's some violence, but I love the audio versions of Laura Lippman's novels. The Kent Haruf Colorodo cycle of novels starting with Plainsong are great also. Tom Stetschulte is my favorite narrator--listen to enough audiobooks and you'll have favorites and a few you hate *shakes fist at dumb George Guidall*

Great book. Not violent. It's about the experiences of a Nigerian woman in America.

I recently listened to a gentleman in Moscow and enjoyed it immensely.

Commonwealth by Anne Patchett was really good as an audio book.

I found Trever Noah's book Born a Crime so interesting. Great audiobook.
I also liked Gentleman in Moskow.

I'm listening to the Hogarth Shakespeare series. I really enjoyed Vinegar Girl (Taming of the Shrew), randomly downloaded it because I liked the cover, lol.

That prompted me to just listen to the others as they become available at my library.

Enjoyed:
Little fires everywhere
Anything by David Sedaris (because he reads his own work, which I love)

No voilence, trauma, rape.

Wouldn’t mind non fiction, or a classic. I like current favorite fiction reads but they’re all about WWII lately and don’t get me started. SO overdone.

Thanks!

Huh - I love audiobooks too but hated Little Fires Everywhere (did not finish). I like David Sedaris but really could not get into his latest book. One of the best audiobooks I've listened to lately was Priestdaddy. Its a memoir read by the author and some of the passages in it are the funniest things I've probably ever read. I usually never read memoirs but took a chance because it was one of the NYTimes' top 10 books of 2017.

The website bookriot.com is fantastic. This article suggests audiobooks that the author deemed "perfect."

All of the John Sanford "Prey" books. Also, I just listened to "The Marsh King's Daughter" and it was good.

I’ve listened in my commute or anytime I’m doing mindless tasks around the house for about five years and have heard hundreds by now (mostly from DC public library). One that really stands out is Hellhound in his Trail by Hampton Sides.

After a while you’ll start to have your favorite narrators, but this one is read by the author and he does a great job.

Narrator I can’t stand: George Guidall
