Northwestern is just the superior school in all respects—academics, athletics, and location. Both have generally unattractive coeds, though.

They’re both amazing schools. Different in feel, and in the kinds of students they attract, but both really good. Anyone who spends time trying to parse out the minuscule differences that exist in terms out selectivity and such is a weirdo.

NU is intense and the kids are annoying. They're all SUPER obsessed with getting into "exclusive" student orgs. Not kidding.

+1

Do you have an ex who went to NU or something? Can't stand purple? Hate the North Shore?

If I had to bet, Brown overtakes them next US News edition. Just look at the app surge. And it's been the "hot" college at my kids' private for a couple of years.

Yes, you’re splitting hairs, as is anyone who refers to a “lesser” Ivy. At this level, it doesn’t make a difference.

Because rankings are dumb. Its a data point, that's it.

Have you attended, or worked, at all (or any) of these schools? How do you know that NU undergrad is "not ivy caliber"? And what exactly is "ivy caliber," anyway?

Not only Brown, but Rice #14 and Vanderbilt #14 are also stronger undergrad student bodies and experiences. Maybe I'm splitting hairs, but it seems Northwestern is more-so a peer to Notre Dame #18 and WashU #18. NU has amazing professional colleges but undergrad experience is not Ivy caliber.
