I went to one at night in Puerto Vallarta and they said it was "beach elegant".

I wore a wrap dress with 3/4 sleeves and wedge sandals.

Assuming they are upper class the wedding will probably be very fancy. Latin American elite go all out for weddings. Mexicans with money in the DF are some of the fanciest people around.

I have friends in Mexico City. They had black-tie evening weddings with receptions in hotel ballrooms. Women wore the same types of gowns that you would see at a black-tie evening wedding here (long and sparkly).

I would suggest you wear the same thing you’d wear to a similar wedding here (depending on time of day, venue, designated attire, etc).

Mexico City is just like any other big international city. You don't need to wear resort styled outfits in the DF. It's not Cancun.

OP, wear what you'd wear to a wedding in DC in June. Cocktail dress or similar. Unless it's black tie, then go long.

OP, my DH's family is all from Mexico City. Honestly, anything you would wear to a wedding here would work well. I've found the styles of the young members of the family might be slightly different but it's not a huge range. Work on your dancing if you'll be the only gringa there, that's where the real Americans usually show themselves .

Wasn't sure if I should post this here or beauty/fashion. I am attending an evening wedding in Mexico City this June. Families of bride and groom both live there is this is not really a destination wedding situation where all the guests will be American.

Have not been to Mexico before--would love recommendations on what outfits will be appropriate/fitting. (I am late-20s and size 8-10 if that helps.)
