Since when? I heard they're pretty stingy, as are all of the UCs for OOS.

We haven't visited the campus, but my DC is excited about warm weather.

Yes, it really does. So if he really managed to write an essay that didn't come across as dull, THAT IS WHY HE GOT IN.

Our DS pulled this off. He got into two of his 3 reach schools but didn't get into all of his matches. A great essay is in the eyes of the beholder.

When we visited, while some admissions people were better at hiding it than others, you could tell they were all buzzing about his essay.

It seemed like they all wanted to know how a future engineer with straight Bs in English had written that essay.

Of course, a college essay is totally different from an English assignment that is dashed off on the bus on the way to a game.

What does OOS mean?

My DC was accepted at UCLA too. I think it's easier OOS, especially east-coast.

Many of the highest stat people waitlisted per CC website. Lower stat people admitted. Go figure.
