I've flown them 3 times. Once the check-in agent told me something inaccurate about bag fees, and then they damaged my bag.

Next time, inaccurate bag info once again.

Next time, couldn't find my paid seat selection, gave me a crap seat. Eventually refunded my money.

3 for 3!

I think they're worse than AA and Delta. United is the worst of all. YMMV.

They charge for carryons that don't fit in the seat in front of you. Small bags and purses will qualify. If you have a roller-bag, you will have to pay for it.

They do charge for carry-ons. You can pay in advance for the seat assignment and carry on for a reduced fee. You can join their club to get cheaper flights. It's not terrible. SW stresses me about boarding. So, I always buy "Board A" group

I've done the flight from Denver to Reagan many times. Not red-eye, but flown Frontier red-eye to many other destinations.

I've flown Frontier almost exclusively for the last 6 years.

Just wanted to mention all that to qualify my experience when providing my opinion. Frontier is just like any other airline. Some awesome flight attendants, some not. Planes are mostly clean, never too dirty. I never drink anything other than water, so it doesn't bother me that I don't get a free drink or free nuts, but water is free. Most flights leave and land on time, but of course sometimes stuff happens and planes are delayed. I'm over 6 feet tall, most of that height in my legs with a short torso, and I sit just fine even with the rabble in the back without paying for extra legroom. I even sat in the last row on a middle seat in between two huge guys bigger than me, and it was fine for a 3 hour flight.

Sure they nickel and dime, but they're consistently cheaper than everyone else for me, by a long shot, to the point where I'm still saving hundreds even if I splurge for legroom, which I usually do. At the end of the day, unless you're in First class on another airline (Frontier doesn't have a first class, only a few rows with more legroom), it's no different than flying with anyone else.

I have done it. Get extra room. And, for a red eye, the window is actually better (and I usually insist on aisle). You can lean on the window and no one will be climbing over you when you go to sleep for the potty. Frontier is no worse than American, United, Delta.

Anyone take the red eye from Frontier (Denver - IAD)?

All other flights are nearly double the cost. Even if I select the extra leg room and a bag...it's still cheaper.

Is it really that bad?
If I do the extra leg room / exit row, will it be painful still?
