OP, this is just not going to happen for you this year.

It looks as if it's going to be cold up and down the East Coast that last week of March - certainly not beach/pool weather. And you will be hard pressed to find a basic hotel with an indoor pool for less than $200/night that week since many schools have spring break.

$100- $150/night? I'd pay for a few nights of a hotel that's more like $200 if it included a nice lazy river. But not $300-400. And if we went to SC, we'd drive. But if we go to Orlando, there are plane tickets involved. So a SC hotel could cost a little more than a Florida hotel.

Like the PP said, nowhere in SC is warm enough in late March for outdoor swimming unless it's a heated pool. The weather is usually beautiful and great for sitting on the beach in clothing and enjoying the sun and sand, but we don't usually start swimming in non-heated places until mid April at the earliest.

Why not have a fun staycation at home? Take some day trips. Do an overnight in a hotel with an indoor pool. Save your money and plan a fun trip for the summer.

This. Nowhere in SC is going to have guaranteed outdoor swimming in March. The daytime highs will likely be in the 60’s at best.

Define “cheap.”

In March I really think you need to be in FL to go swimming. Pelican Grande in Fort Lauderdale has a nice lazy river. So does the Hilton Bonnet Creek in Orlando.

JW Marriott, Four Seasons, Hilton Orlando, and Bonnet Creek have lazy rivers in Orlando.

When is your spring break?

I had so many grand plans for this spring break, but didn't follow through on any of them!

I think 4-5 days at a great southern hotel or condo with a great outdoor lazy river would be about our speed at this point. Can anyone recommend one? Maybe close to Charleston or Savannah? Or further north if you think it'd be warm enough. Or possibly Orlando, if we fly.
