I keep coming back to the boards because I can't really talk to friends about it for various reasons. There is some consolidation in knowing others are going through this process with you!
Your friends didn't refer their kids or they're in pool, is that why? I have a circle of friends/neighbors and they never mention AAP so I didn't bring it up to ask anyone going for AAP. I don't have anyone to talk to about AAP either.
PP here. Friends didn't refer + not in pool and there is the opinion that our neighborhood center school is a hot mess so there is a lot of negative feedback there which just adds to my anxiety. Also, I don't want to give the impression that I think my kid is so much smarter than the other kids.
Same boat here. Now if someone asks you when your DC makes it to AAP, would you downplay AAP and pretend that it's not a big deal? I don't want to lose friends/neighbors over this.
