I remember there used to be a company called USIS and there was a huge congressional investigation regarding how sloppy their background checks were. Relevant to the thread, it came out that the investigators were paid based upon how many investigations they completed and the company pushed for volume on completing investigations regardless of quality.

Maybe things have changed but it seems like a shitty work environment.

I don’t know but those jobs seem awful. I’ve had to talk to enough of them to know there’s super high turnover due to the pressure.

I don't know if the bolded word was intentional, but it's very apt.
No idea how much they are paid, but I know CSRA is not the only company offering these jobs. CACI may be more stable these days.
