I had stats worse than that when I was 34. At the time, they didn't tell me that I was DOR, and I never really researched it. I did 3 IUIs and then got pregnant naturally with AMH of .30. After a year of trying at 37, I went back to Dominion and went straight to NCIVF. My AMH was <.01 at that point and they told me that I had a less than 10% chance of it working. They recommended DE or Adoption. I asked them to give it a shot, and they did only because I had gotten pregnant naturally 3 years before. I did two rounds. One was cancelled before retrieval and the second one is my youngest child. I do believe that I got very lucky, but you never know unless you try. I would not waste my time at SG. They do not specialize in DOR, and stims are not recommended with DOR.

I had an AFC of 2 and GW was going to do IVF. I ended up getting pregnant on my own but GW was willing to try. I was at SG previously and left.

Not yet, but Dr. Gordon is pretty confident given my AFC. I had a medicated cycle at SG that yielded four eggs, one PGS normal embryo, and they didn't want to switch protocols (given my age four eggs is very low). Dr. Gordon seems way more knowledgeable about DOR and is much more open to trying different things than my doctor at SG. Dominion doesn't put as much stock into AMH (mine is shockingly low) and goes by AFC. Dr. Gordon was able via sonogram to find some things in my uterus previous surgeons suspected, but the doctor at SG never saw/mentioned.

My good friend had this issue, although had never had a child and was 37. I think her FSH was in the 30s. She still had regular cycles and tried NCIVF once, but the egg didn't fertilize. She also did the general testing and found that a tube was blocked. She had that fixed and got pregnant within a couple months naturally. I hope you're as lucky. The good news for you is that you're 35 and your egg quality is likely OK, if not the reserve. I have the opposite problem, as I'm 40+, so I'm moving on to DE after 6 IVF cycles that all yielded a high # of eggs for my age. If it works, I'm sure I'll wish I did it sooner.

With very FSH levels, the stim drugs have less of an effect to no effect at all. The IVF drugs that cause people to produce multiple eggs are nautral or synthetic forms of FSH and the doses that they can give aren't going to make a difference if your body has already realized that it needs more and more to develop an egg. I don't know if 22 is too high for the use of any stims by a specialist, but it will be too high for most REs around here. It may be worth a consult with Dr. Davis at Cornell to see.

That's interesting. I have only had pessimism for my situation (secondary infertility after getting pregnant easily the first time)--my AMH is .60, FSH is 5, and AFC is 12. I was told by multiple RE's that I have less than a 1% chance of getting pregnant naturally, and less than a 10% chance of success with IVF, and sadly that has been the case (TTC #2 for 4 years, zero pregnancies). Age 38.

can you afford to go to Cornell? if so, I would see Dr Davis. he is amazing with DOR patients.

Same, in face Dominion never even told me my FSH. When I had my final numbers drawn, my AMH was <.01, and I was 37. I already had a child (who took years to conceive), and Dr. D agreed to do NC IVF because of that. Do not use SG. Go to someone with more expertise in DOR.

Have you been monitoring your FSH over a period of time? Or just once this time around? Numbers do fluctuate month to month, so your next month D3 number may be in 10s or less than 10s. Do you have other levels tested, like AMH, LH, P4, E2, AFC, etc.? Maybe overreacting from a single data set.

My sister-in-law was in a similar situation at 37 with even higher FSH. She went to Dominion and during the initial work up found out that one tube was blocked. She had that corrected and was contemplating NCIVF, but she got pregnant naturally. The procedure they do to visualize your uterus and tubes can actually increase fertility. Good luck.

I have severe DOR and worked with GWU. So yes, just affirming that you should give them a call. I've heard Dominion also works with severe DOR or ovarian failure folks but I have not talked to them directly.

I just got my day 3 blood work back and my FSH was shockingly high. My husband and I are already blessed with one child, so the fact that I am having premature ovarian failure at 35 totally sideswiped me. I am currently at SGF and the doctor is pessimistic. I had read in a post that SGF won't retrieve if you only have two follicles but that Dr. Frankfurter at GW will. I have no idea if that is true, but was hoping to get some advice as to which doctor/center would be the best choice for my specific situation. Thank you in advance for the help.

And I am not looking to open a debate as to whether I should be trying for a second child. My husband and I are both only children, we would like our child to have a sibling if possible.
