No, an exit ticket is usually 1-2 questions to see if you "got" the lesson that day. It's a summary question that gives the teacher feedback on where to go tomorrow (can we move forward yet?), helps group kids for future remediation, or identifies common misconceptions. Very common in MS/HS.

20:11 here. What you describe is what I meant, although some may be just a bit longer. I find they are fairly common in ES, but it doesn't sound like what the OP is referencing.

Are these just classroom quizzes or “exit tickets” that the classroom teacher is using? I teach third grade and there I nothing like that County-wide.

Sorry I omitted that. These are ES tests. Until last week, I assumed these tests were related to the cirricula. Maybe the pacing at school is off from that from the state's guidance. It seems odd that there'd be a disconnect.

Can you be more specific? Are we talking about elementary or MS/HS?

I've noticed at the MS/HS level that teachers love to give tests that are worth only a few points, with the result that one or two careless mistakes can easily result in a C or below. These are very stressful for kids who care about their grades.

Can someone point me to information on all the "little" tests FCPS students take throughout the year beyond eCART. These tests tend to have 5-7 questions. I met with someone from the school and mentioned that my DC was VERY concerned about the scores. I must have misunderstood something because this person said that those tests are often out of alignment with what is taught in the classroom. What I was definitely told was don't worry about the scores because they are meaningless as far as assessing what students have learned and don't count toward student grades. The meeting I had was not about these tests, so I didn't dwell too much about this information then. However, if I heard is correctly, then I'm very concerned about these tests, and how they are affecting my DC. TIA
