I have not used it personally but the fee-only planner I use today did not give me a comprehensive plan like the sample on this website! I created one myself.
I think it's a great service. If I were to use them, I'd ask the following questions:
1. What type of planner do I get? Are they CFAs or otherwise certified? Can I get a name before I decide or at least a sample profile?
2. What are their typical recommendations for money management? Do they tell you what to invest in or just say that you should be 80% in stocks?
Worst case scenario, spend the $300 and get the financial plan. if not happy with the options, move on. But then, teh monthly cost is only $19.
