I think that people believe their chances are a little better this year because one additional PK class is opening up.
With an early action schools, if they have to open a new class to accommodate IB demand, but don't quite have enough IB folks to fill it, a few OOB will get in.
This happened at our school last year. They took a while to see if they really truly needed the classroom, so the waitlist did not move much, then went about 20 spots in a few days when they opened it in June.
What is your school? I don't think Thomson has ever had problems filling their spots with IB.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Thomson is a more afffluent school with better test scores. You might want to check on the feeders because it's either SWW or Jefferson, not sure. If you think you would not stay at either, I would pick Langley for neighborhoodiness and the socioemotional stuff.
I have heard from a few neighbors that while Langley is nice for Pk3, Pk4 and K, it hasn't been satisfactory for grades over that. Would That be same case with Thomson. Ideally, we would want to be in the same school in the elementary years.
Also, considering Thompson also participates in Early Action, how are the chances of getting into it for OOB families?
