No Surprises by Radiohead - a good friend killed herself and then this was played as she was cremated (her choice).

Fire and Rain - James Taylor
You Can Close Your Eyes - James Taylor

They both remind me of my grandmother who unexpectedly passed away last year. If you listen to the words, you will know why I chose them.

Alphaville's "Forever Young". My mother was dying when that song was popular. I was in high school and had a new driver's license, so I used to drive around by myself alot and cry listening to the radio. That one would get to me and still does.

That song was fairly new when my grandfather passed away in the early 90s and it started playing as we were driving away from the gravesite. I always think of him when I hear that song. But that's not even close to the feelings that the song evokes in you. I'm so sorry PP. That's terrible.

When I Get Where I'm Going by Brad Paisley featuring Dolly Parton. I am not big on country music but this one makes me tear up every time.

Was thinking about this because last night, driving home from work "Castle On The Hill" by Ed Sheeran came on. Maybe it's the nostalgia aspect of that song (going back to visit the past) but everytime it comes on I tear up. And think of my childhood. 54yo white male here.

Other songs that do this to me are "I hope You Dance" by LeeAnne Womack, "Sand & Water" by Beth Nielsen Chapman and "At 17" by Janis Ian. Oh, "and, "who Wants To Live Forever," by Queen
