I know several people who went to nursing school in their 40s and even 50s. 28 is still a baby and most people change careers a few times these days. It's not the 1950s anymore where people rode out a job they hated because they got decent pay and promise of a pension.

You are so young that this can't be considered a career change.
I had my Bachelor at 25 and followed with a Master right away. I started my career at 28.

I started a PhD at 38, so...no 28 does not seem young to switch careers.

28 is extremely young. I have friends who entered med school or law school or got second bachelor's degrees in their mid 30s and made transitions.

Do well in those classes. Work hard. You want options? You know what's needed. Stop distracting yourself.

I changed careers in my early 30’s from finance to law.

Two people I work with retired from good GS-15 positions in the gov’t and went to nursing school in their late 40’s.

I finished my BSW in 2014 and have been employed as a social worker since then. I worked in a nursing home and now work in a different division of long-term care.

I enjoy taking care of people but am more interested in the biological processes rather than psychological. Basically more interested in looking at people’s bodies rather than their minds and circumstances.

I just enrolled to upgrade my math and science courses so I can apply to the RN program. I’m wondering if there’s anyone here who changed careers in their late twenties or did nursing as a second career?
