OMG - I have been wondering this same thing! I posted about it on the diet/exercise forum about a month ago.
at least now I know I'm not alone. I've been taking Barre for 6 months, 2-3 times per week. My jeans are tight, and like you I have not been eating more. I won't get on the scale as that would probably freak me out.
All that said, my butt is for sure lifted and rounder - which is actually what I wanted out of the class. That plus toner legs. My stomach is really toned now.
I dug around and found a lot of articles about this exact issue. and all of them say to just keep doing it and eventually you'll start losing inches as the fat starts burning away. I hope so - because I love my barre class and don't want to stop doing it![]()
Op here. You are certainly not alone pp! It’s driving me crazy because my body is definitely different now after two months. I love the classes though and bought an annual auto pay membership so hopefully things may change and I lose a few inches! If not, we’ll then I’ll have a new big booty. ?
I almost jumped to the unlimited membership, but am now rethinking this. For now I'm sticking with my monthly, 10 times per month membership until I start to notice that my jeans are no longer tight.

That's only half of the equation... were you doing a different workout before? It is possible that you are burning fewer calories now, but if you're eating the same amount, that would result in weight gain. Not saying it's true one way or the other, but make sure you look at this from all angles to make the best educated guess as to what is happening here.

Anonymous wrote:You are gaining muscle mass, and that's a good thing. Your butt is getting stronger, and lifting. That's good too.
Focus less on weight and how you look. Do you appear more toned and stronger? Do you like the way you are fitting in clothes?
I gain weight when I workout because I eat more to compensate for the energy I'm expending. I keep the snacking healthy of course but to me it is about how I look - and sometimes gaining muscle weight actually makes me look better and less sticky thin.
