No, PP is doing the right thing in calling her reps. I applaud her/him. Having worked in A Congressional office, the can you that the calls matter.
I work with staffers on various issues, and I can tell you they're a facade. Your calls don't matter, sadly. But it this makes you feel more in control, then by all means. I'm not saying you shouldn't call, or that you're rude to them.
