The puma ones where just the cat skeleton lights up are pretty innocuous in the scheme of light up shoes. They were our standard when my oldest was in preschool. Unfortunately they were a little too narrow for his brother.

Yeah, this. And as an adult with sensory issues, they are actually painful to see in public. I don't buy them.

Not OP but thanks for that tip - I just ordered a pink pair of those for my DD, she'll be thrilled and I'm happy with no characters!

My son has this pair. Looks like the royal blue is sold out on Zappos, but maybe look elsewhere? Geox has other light ups hoes also. Not cheap, but they are good quality shoes.

Kind of like OP said, it's not a matter of being stylish or anything like that. I just don't like light-up shoes. I think they're distracting and unattractive. I'm not picky or spendy when it comes to my kids' clothes, believe me. I've talked my kid into believing his shoes are "fast" instead.

I'm the PP who bought the LED shoes. Those are really not offensive as far as light-up shoes go. I may make my 4 year old's day.

We got the sketchers ones from amazon and they really aren’t bad - plain black. My son loves loves loves them.

I've gone and died on this hill as well, because I just can't find acceptable light-up shoes. My compromise is that I bought the Amazon $20 LED shoes that you charge via USB that have 10 crazy light settings. DS wears them on Halloween and for night walks around the neighborhood. I wouldn't subject his preschool teachers to the distraction, though.

My 4 year old is asking for light up shoes, and I'd be happy to buy them if I could find some that were semi-stylish. The ones I have found so far are chunky, covered in Paw Patrol or whatever, and just not something I'd like to spend $30-40 on. Trust me, I'm not a fashion snob, and my kid wears pretty much what he wants, but for some reason I draw the line at ugly shoes. I generally like simple looks like See Kai Run and Nikes and Converse.

Any cute-ish boys' light up shoes out there?
