No, I don’t think so. But I do believe he’s directed me. I was in a very bad situation and couldn’t see how important it was for me to leave. I kept going back or trying to stay despite the fact that it was incredibly emotionally painful. I joked with friends that I knew pain was nature’s way of telling me to take my hand out of the fire, and that I knew that God was yelling at me to get the hell out. I didn’t listen. That “voice” got louder and louder in terms of the messaging, and though I kept giving second chances, thing after thing kept happening to nudge me out. I finally left despite not wanting to go AT ALL. That decision probably saved my life. I look back now and think very strongly that I was being directed away from a dangerous situation.

Of having a second kid at 44, after having my first at 41? After spending three years and thousands of dollars trying for him? No, those odds were really, really small.

I had a difficult business decision to make that I was agonizing over.
I finally decided to turn it over to God, and prayed that God would give me a sign on what to do.
I literally finished making the sign of the cross from that prayer, when the phone rang. It was a person related to that decision who gave me some information that made my decsion crystal clear, essentially turning what looked like a strong yes into an almost certain no.
A couple of month later something happened in my personal life that affected the business in a way that would have made the other decision that looked so write on paper a huge mistake.
God spoke to me that day.

I sometimes hear people say God has spoken to them. I'm not sure what that means. Do you hear something audible, in your mind, or what?
