The candy is annoying. The other stuff is fine. Just give the candy away or freeze it and hand it out in tiny portions. I mean, honestly...this is not something to get bent out of shape about.

OP doesn't need to be cruel. The MIL is trying desperately to shower love on her grandchildren. There's a better way to handles this then "they go straight in the trash."

I would say thank you and either throw out or donate or take to the office. If she ever asks you can tell her it's far too much candy and you have to take it to the office or that they still had candy left over from the previous two holidays so that went to the donation.

I think you start tossing the candy before the kids see it. Money and presents, whatever. You can donate those if you like. She's trying very hard to express her love, so find a way among the many she's offering that works for you and offload the rest.

Throw it away or take it into work. My mom sends stuff sometimes that I don't want to give to my kids so I either throw it away or donate it. It's easy.

Title says it all. It’s just frustrating to me. Literally, I weighed it, 10 lbs of candy per child arrive for every Valentine’s Day, St Patrick’s, Easter, Halloween. It gets old. MIL is morbidly obese, can’t walk ect, barely can hold on to a baby because of girth. She also sends outfits for holidays when I already have them, money from tooth fairy when the tooth fairy has already come, presents and stockings from Santa (with more like 20 lbs of candy per child). I want to say “you’ve already had your children. Reign it in!”. I’m sure I will flamed for this by those that have lost grandparents they have loved. I’m tired of being the candy police. It’s gets so old and there is a limit.
