Yes, but it takes a little time for them to warm up. Though at the same time she seems to see them more like family (since they socialize with parents/siblings) rather than her current school friends with whom she socializes independently. But she still asks to invite them to birthdays and asks for occasional playdates which we do when we can.

I’m still friends with a preschool friend! But we eventually went to school together again.

My 5 year old is in preschool this year. She missed the K cutoff but her bestie didn’t. We have made sure to get them together at least once a month to play. They are both developing new friendships AND have a great time when they are together.

Same here. My son had a great preschool friend and his mom and I got along so well, but we’re at different schools and in different towns and it didn’t last.

Yes because us moms are good friends and so we make it work. They may not see each other but once a month or two but it’s like no time has passed at all.

No. Both my DCs are still good friends with their elementary/middle school friends though (from a k-8 school). And one DC ended up at college with a preschool friend and reconnected.

Somehow all of the kids in my son’s preschool class (just six of them) and all of the moms really clicked and we are still friends despite the kids all being in different schools. We still try to get everyone together about once or twice a month.

My son's 14 and is still best friends with his best preschool friend even though they went to different elementary and middle schools.

My first grader (so 1.5 years since leaving pre-school) still seems a few of the kids she was friends with who are now at different schools. 2 of them have younger siblings at the same daycare as her brother, so we see them their occasionally. We do playdates once in a while, and birthday party invites are still happening for now. I don't know how long it will last, but I love it for now.

My son has many friends from his pre-k class but one best friend. We do play dates, the boys are in the same soccer class and will be on the same t-ball team together this spring. They love each other, they never argue, and are just a great fit personality match. The mom and I have grown close as well and I would consider her one of my best friends as well. I know friendship come and go. Especially once kids enter elementary school. The boys will not be attending the same elementary school and I guess it makes me sad that the boys will most likely grow apart. Did any of your kids stay friends with old preschool pals?
