Multiple top right hand corners - near perfect scores denied for Duke, while a 30 ACT 3.6 weighted was accepted and was not a recruited athlete.

So that means Duke must really like their legacy families

No one got into U of Minnesota. Each year, going back like 5 years, a couple students would apply and no one had ever gotten in. Eventually one student visited and they got in.

+1 -- Naviance is way overrated and relied on.

It works extremely well for our private school. I can see how it may not for public since so many may apply each year and you have strange grade inflations that colleges need to decifer.

Our Big3 said the outliers were always sport admits and to ignore.

Ours does not unless 3 or more are in both accepted and rejected. If there is ED/EA or waitlist those too have to be at least 3 each. It does not show which ones matriculated.

I do wish they would show race, financials, and rigor on schools with large applicants. UMD, Wisconsin, UT Austin, and Clemson are getting much harder.

Our school doesn't show the specific data unless there are more than 10 applicants. Otherwise it just shows "number applied" and "number accepted"

I do wish it showed demographics and course rigor, as we are at a diverse IB school.

I think they violate common courtesy with privacy.

I know what my friend's kid got on her ACT because she was the only one who got in to a certain school. I also know her GPA.

ED at some schools work and don't at others.

But all you know is GPA and test score from the scatergram. That's enough to predict admissions to most schools, but the most selective schools are pretty clear that they look at more than that.

Most schools there is a certain pattern you can see. A certain test score or GPA they are looking for. Of course it isn't perfect and their is an outlier here or there, but naviance can be helpful. But then there are some crazy colleges that have no clear rhyme or reason on the grid. Just all over the map. What colleges does your naviance show some that has your head scratching?

My child's school has a few: U of Chic, Cornell, U of Mich were all over the place. Almost seems like U of Chic likes the underdogs. Cornell takes some chances, and maybe Michigan is legacy related or yield protection? We don't have many re ruined athletes so I don't think that is it

The other noticeable thing is that the top SLAC's are almost harder to get into than some Ivy's or other top colleges. Only jaw dropping stats need apply.

Without giving your school away (confidentiality issues) what have you seen that surprised or helped you?
