Why stay in McLean? I live here, so I get the desire not to have to drive far, but there really isn't much decent. Assaggi Osteria is probably your best bet. They used the time there were closed to revamp the restaurant, menu, and staff and spruce up everything.

Downtown DC isn't that far down the GW Parkway. You'll find better restaurants there. Valet parking at the better ones.

We did Cafe Tatti late last year and it was good.

If you're willing to venture to Vienna, I hear good things about Bazin's on Church.

People seem to really enjoy Evo Bistro.

Evo Bistro is now closed (as of last week), and I heard the same of Joe's Burgers. Rent is too high for restaurant owners, apparently.

Dal grano has great food but is not fancy if that’s what you’re looking for.

Otherwise, why stay in McLean? Not good restaurant choices there and Tysons is so close by — second Nostos and Neisha Thai is also good. Go even a bit farther go Mosaic for lots of voices.

Why? so many more decent options if you venture a little farther away from home.

As someone else wrote, if you have a "rare night out", then love yourselves and get outside of McLean. Tysons has a million choices.

McLean is a wasteland of good food. If you are adventurous eaters, Essan Thai is pretty good and in a super tiny, intimate little place. I've heard Cafe Assaggi is ok. I haven't been to Cafe Oggi for over 20 years, but even back then it was just "meh". If you have a rare evening out, do yourselves and favor and either go into the city, or if you must stay nearby, Clarity in Vienna is the best restaurant in your area.
