Op here - Thanks for input. Would you say that the kids are more accepting and less "mean" at the SN school ? I guess probably school dependent but that's one of my daughter's issues with public.
Mean kids exist everywhere, unfortunately. From my experience, sn schools are more attuned to it.

Subject: Switching from public to private
Had a (for our school) great iep but kid felt dumb compared to classmates which lead to giving up and no longer trying in school. Private has been an amazing turn around for him. We try to see old friends once in a while but new friends are even better because they get him and understand him because they feel the same.

Op here - Dd is on board - says it will be fine and could see her school friends at other times. I don't think she realizes how it will change things.

Anyone regret switching from public w iep to private special needs school ? Considering for 4th grade dyslexic child.
