Our FDs are always screaming, laughing, shrieking and tearing through the house. They are having a blast, but the noise is tough for me to take. Happily they are happy playing outside most of the time.

I never noticed that one sex is louder than the other. It's more individual than that.

I wouldn’t have had four kids if I were concerned about noise.

(eyeroll) women think the "correct" noise level is the female one, and the louder male noise level is "wrong". Whatever.

This is the opposite of my experience. Boys were usually quiet while the girls were like a whirlwind of noise. I think girls quiet down around adolescence.

OP, you didn't know as young kids boys are louder than girls? Do some research. This is common knowledge.

Both my kids were loud but DD was always louder than DS, and still is.

Boys are just loud. I have four ( three are adults now), and they were always loud, full of fun, and kept me laughing all the time. I thoroughly enjoyed raising my boys, but I was always a tomboy, so I spent all of my time with my brother and my male cousins. We were never quiet. My sister was the quiet one, and still is. Embrace it, and enjoy it. They'll grow up soon enough, and you'll miss it. Mine are scattered around everywhere, and busy with their own lives, and I only have one loud 12 yr old at home. Sometimes he's too quiet compared to what I'm used to lol.

No, my famy is full of female shriekers. I come away with dining ears every time, and I am also female - but the only non loud mouth. The men are much more quiet.

I think it's family dependent and learned behavior.

Maybe you don’t know many little girl shriekers. They have coyotes in distant canyons responding to their calls.
