No one can ever explain why so I’ve decided to ignore the negativity.

I wish the people that were posting negatively about Our Lady of Lourdes would explain a bit! I'm also looking at this school for my son for preschool!

Wow PP, you have been BUSY posting about St. Bart's!
We have friends with kids in STB and OLOL (and don't forget Little Flower!). Like all small schools, all three can be great or terrible depending on the grade and gender of your child. I recommend having your child shadow at each to get a feel for the specific group of kids they would be spending time with for 6-7 hours every day.

My daughter had a friend who left Lourdes for St. Bart's. St. Bart's has an excellent resource team that provides support for a number of children with various learning needs. The small class sizes work wonders (13-23 kids per class) and allows each teacher the time and space to differentiate instruction, collaborate with the teaching team (and families). St. Bart's also works with MCPS for services, as there are a few kids who have additional support on campus and others who are bussed to Bannockburn for a session.

We liked it. They are very welcoming to everyone. One thing you should check into is that they give a large amount of homework and it seemed like a significant part needed to be in “perfect cursive.” I’d definitely ask about what modifications are made for learning differences.

The families there really love it. We have been happy with our experience at OLOL. Neurotypical children are challenged. I feel the academics are on par with MCPS. There is one class per grade. My daughter's math class has 15 kids, classes like Religion and History are with the whole grade. There are 26-30 or so kids per grade. Administration knows everybody which is nice. I don't know what the negative poster's issue is.

We love OLOL. Our children do not have learning differences, but the children who do are fully included in all aspects of the community. Very impressed with everything we have seen at the school and their ability to teach ALL children in a community of support and respect.

This place is the WORST. Do not send your children there.

Can folks comment on this school. We are considering it for a neurotypical child and other child who has math and reading disability, although on grade level with extra help. How many classes are there per grade? What is the class size? Are neurotypical learners challenged? We will attend next week’s open house but wanted to hear some opinions before attending. Helps to know what questions to ask.
