Okay, this was unnecessary. You don't know anything about her except what she shared. I could have written the exact same post a year ago. Had blood work done, a full physical, and turns out I was pretty sick. Everything was out of balance. I would suggest she get a full work up to determine is something is going on besides motivation.

Lack of motivation or determination to work out is way more common than serious illness.

This has nothing to do with energy levels, unless you have some sort of hormone imbalance like thyroid issues, and everything to do with overall motivation. I eat less than 1800 calories (trying to lose weight) and workout intensely 6 days a week.

Once I get into the habit of working out your body craves it and it gives you more energy.

What kind of food are you eating?
Are you trying to lift more than you can handle? Start with low weights like 3 lbs? can you do that? and do it repetitively for 10 and then increase the numbers. Continue to 5 lbs and start with 10, then increase.

Or is it motivational? I know I took a bootcamp and I though I was going to die in there before, during and after (a few days after too). But, I'm still here. I kept with it. I was aching for a few days each time. It was awful but I felt great.

Maybe try a class. When you see others trying it, you can't give up. You want to try it.

Test your iron level -- you might be anemic.

Try eating more carbs, increase vitamins and iron and drink more water.

Try committing to doing the 7-minute workout (it's an app you can download) every day for one week. It's only 7 minutes, so it's easy to talk yourself into it even if you are exhausted. That may jump start you.

You have to power through- I have been doing Whole 30 and feel the same. When I initially start running, I feel like I'm going to die and no way can I make it for a full hour. But after 10 minutes, the feeling subsides. I'm not sure why this is, but I've found it every time I'm doing. It's like they initial hurtle is rough and then gets easier.

I didn’t have a lot of energy, got a physical and had blood work done and found out that I was low in Vitamin D. Supplemented for a few months and my energy level is back up.

What are your stats: height, weight, body fat?

You may want to adjust macros to see what works best for you.

Are you getting enough water?

And yes, try a morning workout (do breakfast before, even if it’s just a protein shake), and agree with PP, sometimes you just have to power through.

Are you sleeping enough?
And sometimes you just have to power through until you build endurance.

Can you work out in the morning?

I am eating around 1800 calories a day. It is pretty evenly split between protein, carbs, & fat. I have tracked it. I have enough energy to get through the day and work just fine. I have no energy to workout. I can do steady state walking, but if I try to do inclines or lift any kind of weights,I have nothing to give. I force myself to go twice a week. I do it, but it is awful. I want to enjoy the process of working out. Do you have any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks.
