Could be a danger to the children.

If she is type 1 bipolar, run!

I am serious.

She has a blog.

She mostly posts about mundane things like classroom organization, baby products (this is her second child), and her “business” (Rodman and Fields) but she’s recently wrote a blog post about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and going through her second pregnancy.

I don’t have any major issues with her. She’s a bit immature and attention seeking but friendly enough. DD has mentioned she’s cried in class ever all times. Worried about an explosive episode or her disorder causing issues in the classroom or with grading.

Frankly, I'd be more concerned about this. As you point out, it seems very immature and look-at-me.

Crying in class ... that’s not good. I’m a teacher and all the crying happens in the Lounge.

Wouldn't concern me. I know a few bi-polar people and they all behave differently- just like non bi-polar people.

She’s also currently pregnant meaning she’s not medicated.

Many people with bipolar take medication during pregnancy. Are you assuming that pregnancy means that she's not medicated, or do you have evidence?

Why do you know the teacher’s personal medical information? Before you knew this information were you concerned about the teacher?

I would be concerned. My FIL was bipolar and before he was medicated, he traumatized his family.

And I want to add that, as usual, it's the people who haven't suffered from others' mental disorders or other health concerns that seek to minimize it.

I would ask myself why my teacher's private health information is important to me and why I would question if I should do something with that information.

Just out of curiosity, how do you know this OP?

If the teacher were doing a good job I could care less. I would hope the person is in therapy. Bipolar can present so many ways. I don't care what diagnosis the person has as long as the person is competent.
