Old lady here. Sigh. So many good step memories. Loved looking at my pony-tail bounce in the mirror when I used to do big L steps off the end of the bench...

Some Gold's has step. The one in Merrifield does. Lots of small clubs use the step, but call the class something else (Cardio something).

Yes, most step classes went away with leg warmers and the 80s/90s (smile). But excercise is exercise do what works for you! Perhaps check eBay for old DVDs of some of your favorites. You can find them cheap, $10-$20 and do it at home. I got the P90X set online for $25 vs $100 someone I know paid to have it full price.

some rec centers have step classes. I know they are offered through Fall Church City.

Chevy Chase Athletic Club (Friendship Heights, Md.) has step classes.

I love step too! I can't believe they charge $30 a class for (305) fitness which is glorified jazzercize, but I still go!

South Bethesda also has them. I agree, OP, nothing beats a hard step class, not spinning, not Zumba, nothing.

It's not Bethesda but NW Sport and Health still has step classes.
Maybe the Bethesda Sport and Health does too.

I'm an avid at-home exerciser who also loves step aerobics. Seasun Zieger Z Fit Super Step DVD is awesome. She passed away a few years ago, so her DVDs are out of print. If you can find a good price on this one or Stepping Up, I highly recommend them. They are highly choreographed and pretty challenging - my two favorite of hers!

Also, Cathe Friedrich makes decent step videos. Her newest step videos are Party Rockin' Step 1 & 2. I also recommend them. They aren't as dancey as Seasun's, but still fun. Cathe has some older offerings, too, and I'm happy to list my favorites if you're interested.

If you want a live class and are in Virginia, the Sunday morning and Thursday evening classes at Lifetime Reston are amazing. The instructor has a huge following and people actually belong to multiple gyms just so they can take her classes. I also like the class taught on Saturday mornings at Lifetime in Fairfax - not as dancey as the Reston classes, but lots of fun because the classes are full and I love the energy from my fellow steppers!

I had some old Denise Austin step videos that were good. I don't know if they are still sold.

I admit it, I'm old. I miss step aerobics. I don't know of any gyms local to me (MoCo) that offer it. Has anyone found an online program or set of videos they like? It beats the pants off of Zumba for me.

Barring any great step aerobics finds, has anyone found any great dancing cardio they like, preferably online or on Amazon or some other streaming service?
