I think the key to whole 30 is that you don’t have to be hungry—you’re not counting calories or limiting portions. The people who are starving are probably not preparing enough on-plan foods. Have plenty of hard boiled eggs, already cooked meats, and fresh and roasted vegetables around.

Whole 30 doesn’t have to leave you hungry. I’ve never been hungry on it. You can have tons of food. If you’re hungry, you’re not making good choices.

As far as grumpiness, I felt happier after the sugar cravings passed. By a week in, I felt pretty good. A lot of people have a rough first week then feel pretty good.

Thanks. I joined a challenge so I have to do the whole program. I appreciate the feedback so I have an understanding of what I’m in for.

I would not do them both together, honestly. Whole30 is going to leave you hungry and grumpy, and CrossFit will probably leave you ravenous and tired. Not a good combo. Maybe do Whole30 first, and then CrossFit when you feel adapted and strong and ready? Or else you’ll be really hungry and although you can eat plenty of compliant snacks, you’re not *supposed* to.

Starting a six week challenge. Whole 30 plus cross fit training. I think I’m ready for the whole 30 but I’m nervous for the cross fit. Used to be fit but went through a tough time and I’ve been fat and lazy for the past 3 years. Need to kick start but I struggle to keep up with physical activity in the beginning so I’m really nervous. Drinking wine tonight.

So my question is what advice do you have for me. I grocery shopped, meal planned, arranged for kid care, got some exercise wear (mine is thread bare), got a book from the library to entertain me if I’m grumpy, started a fun project to entertain me if I’m grumpy, cleared my work schedule so I can get to my class on time and fulfill my family’s needs. My family is all on board.
