No. This year only 1-3 OOB kids w/ sibs got in for PK3. L-T has been getting more competitive each year. There is a chance your 2nd kid could get in for PK3, but 100%? No, closer to 0% than 100%.

No one can say. Too many unknowns. How many other people who live IB have children who will turn 3 that same year, who will move IB between now and then and how old are their kids and how good or bad will your younger child's master number when the time comes.

The only way to be reasonably sure your PK3 child will get in is to move IB.

At the open house the principal made it seem highly likely.

For PK3, there was definitely at least 1 kid who got in OOB (I know the actual name of the student) and I think 2-3. This was post-WL movement (initially some IB were waitlisted) and all of the kids involved had siblings enrolled at the school. So no non-preference OOBer got in. For upper grades (K+), there are definitely some OOBers admitted.

Based on last year's data is seems relatively unlikely, but not as unlikely as at Maury, Brent, or Peabody.

Obviously there's no way to know for sure, and keep in mind that last year's data are not completely determinative of what happens this year. Maybe LT is worth rolling the dice on if you don't have 12 other schools that you're more interested in.

We know several OOB families (with older siblings at LT) that didn't get in.

That second chart also can't be correct. It shows no post-school year starting WL offers being made in a grade at L-T where a kid definitely got in and started after the school year began?

I guess this doesn't give the full picture, perhaps because some of the WL-ed kids may have dropped off before offers were made... because this would imply that only one OOB kid had a WL offer and that kid had a sibling attending. However, I have now had it definitively confirmed (by name) that there is an OOBer w/ no preference attending.

I know of at least one OOB family who got into Ludlow for PK3 without a preference this year. Not sure when they got in.

I know that initially there were IB families on the WL, but everyone I know in that position eventually got in... Is there any way to find out (or does anyone know anecdotally) whether any OOB families ultimately got in?

(I have too many school preferences for 12 slots, but those preferences include Maury, Brent, L-T and Peabody, all of which are somewhere between 0% and .0001% chances for an OOB family. I think I will be able to list 2 of these schools and I'm trying to figure out if there is any benefit to listing them in other than my true preference order -- i.e., if there is any non-0 chance at any of them. I am sure that Brent and Peabody are 0. I know that Maury is normally 0, but wonder if there is even the smallest of chances that IB families hold off sending their PK3ers next year because of the anticipated trailer situation.)
