Anonymous wrote:growing up catholic i didn't know any mormons. i am now sort of a zen atheist. but in the last 8 or so years i've developed an affinity for mormons. it started in hawaii (largest mormon population outside utah), where i worked for and became friends with a number of mormons. i found them intelligent and level-headed, hardworking and ethical business people, friendly and genuine and not at all weird. i was invited to parties but never felt proselytized to. since having kids and moving back to the mainland i've noticed how family-oriented they are, how accommodating they are of children in all areas, and how much respect is shown women for being mothers. am i right that there is some magic in the mormon community? can i join without adopting their beliefs? only half-kidding!
