25-30 degrees is my cut-off for outdoor running. And I won't go if the conditions are icy - at 47 with two kids and a full time job, I can't afford to fall and break something. I also hate running on the treadmill, but actually don't mind walking. So I put it on 4 mph pace, add some incline and I get a decent work-out and break a sweat. Better than nothing, and I can watch a mindless TV show while I walk. I also used to swim instead of run, but in the winter, I hate the thought of swimming and being wet/cold at the gym, so I have to admit, I don't really do it...I just think about doing it.
