My daughter went door to door - I went with her. Sadly of the 15 homes we went to of friends on our block - at times when it looked like someone was home - 3 families answered the door and purchased cookies.

Yes, my parents' employers both banned employees from selling their kids' cookies & other items. It was kind of annoying that a kid whose dad sold her cookies at work for her always won the prize for selling the most, though!
