The ACT is a more straightforward test than the SAT. You don’t need to figure out what is being asked as much as you do the SAT. It isn’t necessarily easier. The science portion is really more reading comprehension than pure science btw.

Graded on a curve. Easier isn't better. What matters is how you perform relative you your ability when under pressure.

She should try a timed practice test of each and decide.

I don't know if this is a typo or pp really meant to say this but I think it's exactly the opposite. The math in ACT is harder than SAT but has easier reading comprehension than SAT.

It depends on whether she is stronger in math or reading comprehension. If the latter, the ACT is probably better. If the former, probably SAT.

Run a couple of practice tests and see how she does.

If she will get accepted why does it matter? A B/C student won't get merit aid even with solid scores.

DD is a junior and will start taking tests this spring. She said she heard the ACT is "easier" -- thoughts? She's a B/C student and has been struggling lately, doesn't seem to test well in general. Would the ACT be a better test for her? She will get accepted to her college based on her athletic hook, so no worries there.
