Traffic in LA SUCKS! The only bad thing about living here.

They widened one of the freeways in LA to speed up traffic at busy times. It slowed down by exactly 4 minutes.

How about more metro lines that cross the Potomac?

Oh, the metro that just derailed again and it's 30 minutes late almost every day? Not all the suburbs are serviced by the metro and not all the offices are close to a station, even in DC proper.

That would be fine, too.

I lived in LA, live in DC now and traffic is worse in DC. DC starts working / commuting at 5 AM and ends at 8 PM. It's non-stop working and therefore traffic. When I was in LA very few people would start work at 6 AM. LA has better roads too - there are only a few bridges over Potomac.

I've lived in LA, too. As horrible as LA is, it has lots of freeways, which means there are different ways to get to your destination. They do need to build more bridges to cross the Potomac. DC area has exploded, and the infrastructure just hasn't kept up, but that's like SF, too, and I lived there as well.

Isn't traffic pretty bad in most urban areas? I lived in LA, SF and now DC. All bad bad bad.

it is frustrating. But if you can live near where you work it makes a huge quality of life difference.

Things have gotten so bad in Los Angeles and I don't see the solution. It makes living in this great city unbearable.
