I started another thread and did not disclose camp name - my kid is begging not to go today. We compromised with early pick up.

We will not be returning

Just saw your other thread. I wonder if our kids are in the same course because my kid also told me about another camper who brought his Switch. I’m really disappointed because we paid for 3 weeks of this camp and kid doesn’t even want to go.

Their ratios are all off. Today kid texted his older brother (who is home) and begged him to nag me to pick him up early.
There are 25 kids in the group and they have 2 counselors. I picked up early and saw the list of staff / who is covering different activities. They do not have back up floaters to bring ratios down. When your kid is telling you the group is out of control and the counselors do not know how to manage them - it is a problem. My kid actually said he needs to write a letter to his K and 1st grade teachers and apologize for behavior of all 6 year olds.

Try TIC! Well organized and staffed. I think it starts at 7.

My socially challenged kid likes it fine. They have mentioned the lack of enthusiasm from counselors; where they were not personable and more interested in their phones, each other and the latest social media thing. They did like the camp activity. But it is very expensive and I hope to find the same camp activity at a better price point next summer.

Signed my 13 year old up for Lavner camp this week - a speciality computer skills camp.

He reported it was disorganized and not run very well, but that everyone was saying how the weather was disrupting everything yesterday.

Curious of other's experiences - it's an expensive camp, and after 1 day I'm not feeling like it's worth the expense. Hoping it is better today.

OP here. Ended up going with some of the STEM themed camps at St Patrick's Episcopal. Still following for next year.

I've done Lavner camp in Philadelphia. Is it the same group? In case it is, I'd say it was fine. Not amazing.

^^^ Same NP here. I am not only looking at their tech program, but seeking any insights into the overall summer camp.
