What number of oz.does your foundation bottle say? Most are way under 3 oz, even if the bottle seems "big."

Or go to a makeup counter and ask for an empty sample bottle. I know Sephora has them, and Clinique counters do, etc.

If you have a spare contact lens case, you can clean it out and use it to hold liquid fountation or similar products in a pinch.

Actual contacts and solution do not need to be within the 3oz limit or go in your ziplock baggie as they are medical supplies, but they do need to be pulled out of your luggage.

Leave the perfume, esp. for a work event, other people can be so sensitive to scents.

I travel for work all the time. I use travel sizes where possible - toothpaste, hairspray, lotion, contact solution, etc. I use contact lens cases for small amount of specialty products (eg, facial moisturizer). I use sample perfumes. And all my regular cosmetics are under 3.1 oz.

I buy a bunch of small empty plastic containers, and fill them with my foundation, shampoo and conditioner, etc.

For perfume, I normally leave it behind, but for some trips that I really want perfume, I found a sample size of a perfume I like. Go to someplace like Sephora and poke around. Make sure the bottle is labeled three oz or less, or they can confiscate it.

Oh, and make sure it's a quart size Ziploc. Nothing bigger.

Browse the trial section at Target. You'll find empty containers there, along with trial sizes for toothpaste and a bunch of other stuff.

For a quick overnight, you can use small containers. For example, pill holders, old contact lens holders. Just label it for your convenience. My DH traveled often so he would bring home shampoo bottles from hotels which I would empty and reuse.

Don't bring the perfume unless you want it possibly tossed. TSA agents will look for bigger, odd-sized, or clunky bottles like that.

If you travel frequently for work, just get Pre Check and then you don't have to bother with this.

Leave the perfume behind.

Get trial size of everything. If bottles are a weird shape that doesn't work for the ziplock bag or are over 3.4 oz, then fill travel size bottles. I've also found that the quart size bags that are sold for travel at the container store that have a different shape than a ziplock bag fit more.

Don't bring perfume. Who wears perfume on a daily basis anymore??

They threw out my 3/4 empty tube of toothpaste last month becase the package label said 5 oz. So watch the packaging.

I always check my luggage, but I'm traveling for a quick overnight business trip and cannot check my bag since my flight time is cutting it too close (particularly my return flight; I need to hop off the plane and head to an event ASAP).

I typically bring a lot of stuff that falls under the TSA liquid category, so I'm wondering how others pare down---as well as how much of an issue is the size as long as it fits in a Ziploc bag? (Again: I've never done carry-on before.)

At a minimum, I need my liquid foundation, concealer, and moisturizer. I guess I should avoid bringing perfume, right? (It's a big Jo Malone bottle 3.4 ozs---would they confiscate it?)

I would also like to bring my biosilk silk therapy. Big skinny bottle, but it says 2.26 ozs.

I think I can squeeze all of this into one little Ziploc bag. Will that work?

Plus I need to bring disposable contacts and lip gloss.
