Do you worry about over eating when it is 0 points?

NP here, Well if you over eat on the beans there are consequences of the gastric variety. I thought portion control would be an issue with all you can eat beans and it has been self regulating to say the least. Also, now that I am eating more of the 0 point food it is more satisfying, keeps me full longer so I snack less so it balances out (so to speak.) And you can really only eat so much yogurt. BUT you can put that yogurt on your salmon with some spices and bake it and it tastes so much better!

www.skinnytaste.com has both recipes and meal plans for the new program.

And to the PP above, I think all treats and food with points stayed the same so 1 square of chocolate is still what it was. It's what you do with your other points that matter.

Sounds good! I will have to check that out. Are there any other recipes you recommend?

minestrone soup--stock, lots of vegetables, white beans, herbs and spices are all 0 points. Points if you want to add pasta or parmesan cheese or pesto to it. Or lentil soup--I've been eating carrot/red lentil/ginger soup this week and it's good--the lentils mush up and thicken the soup a lot.

shakshusha--cook peppers and onions in crushed tomatoes (I like to add red pepper flakes to make it spicy), then crack an egg or two into the sauce and cook them. Points if you want to add feta cheese or a pita.

bibimbap--yes the rice has points but adding tofu (or certain meats) and vegetables and an egg and kimchi is all 0, and you don't need much rice.

You can also do cava-style bowls with chickpeas or lentils and vegetables (I like shredded red cabbage slaw with lemon juice and za'atar) and make a sauce for it with plain yogurt and spices--if you want to add a little tahini or cheese or whatever it's still low points.

or taco bowls with black and pinto beans seasoned with cumin and lime juice, peppers, onions, whatever other vegetables you want, and salsa. A couple corn tortillas or some rice or avocado or cheese add points, but not that many.

egg salad with carrots and celery and use greek yogurt instead of mayo (or instead of most of the may). this works for tuna and chicken salad too (I put a spoonful of chopped pickles in sometimes too). There are many breads, wraps, etc that are pretty low points.

egg and banana pancakes: http://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/2-ingredients-eggs-banana-pancakes-501408

oatmeal with skim milk or yogurt (I make the oatmeal with just water and kind of thick, then stir in yogurt) and a lot of fruit or some canned pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. Adding cinnamon or vanilla makes it feel sweeter so I add less sugar.

air-popped popcorn is low points unless you add lots of butter.

if you have a food processor, you can make veggie patties with beans, eggs, and vegetables--it adds points, but a little flour or oats to hold it together helps.

I made the slow cooker red beans, sausage and rice last night. I added creole seasonings and tobasco. It was good! When I make it again I’ll cut the chicken stock down to four cups though. It was a bit too “soupy” for my taste.

I eat relatively healthy but under the old plan I always saved 2 points a day for some tiny piece of chocolate but now the points have doubled and staying in the limits is really tough. Yeah, I suppose I should eat nothing but plain greek yogurt and kale but it just seems much more difficult and less flexible than before.

Are you sure about that PP? You get fewer daily points (which stinks) but more flexibility with them (which is good). But I have not noticed the point value of anything I routinely use go up (I'm a Halo top addict, so I keep a close eye on that - three points of Halo Top under the new plan is the same amount as it was under the old plan).

I'm PP 20:35 and obviously I am having trouble finding the right zero point foods. Chili poster---have you made other items you would recommend? I will try the chili.

Fabulous. You can eat anything you want—nothing is forbidden. You just can’t have it all at the same time in the portions you’re used to. You get a certain number of points to spend each day. The new plan has a lot of foods that are zero points including chicken and turkey breast, beans, eggs and nonfat Greek yogurt. It’s about eating well for the rest of your life.

I'm not planning on going to meetings right away but maybe it's something I'll think about in the future. Meal planning is tough for me too. I'm the cook but have a 4 and 2 year old that definitely don't need reduced fat or fat free anything.

This week I'm going to make
Spinach blue cheese pasta (Tuesday before my official day)
Tortilla pizza for me, homemade dough for my boys
Crustless quiche with fruit, salad and potatoes
Black bean soup in the crockpot
Spaghetti for my boys and spaghetti squash for me
Vegetable fajitas
Coconut curry lentils

I just signed up. Plan to heavily start Wednesday after grocery shopping on Tuesday.

Any favorite recipes? I'm vegetarian so I like that eggs and beans are now free.

I have a ton to lose. I hope it works! I only lost before on Atkins but found that was impossible to maintain as a vegetarian.
