Vancouver native here ... the entire town is extremely walkable. There is no shortage of shopping district(s) ... around Robson is great. Chinatown is another must visit. There is also no shortage of fantastic restaurants. I highly suggest tapping into the Asian culture of the city and experiencing the diverse menu. It's hard to name just one good restaurant. There are SO MANY. It is much like Hong Kong. As well, definitely visit Grouse Mountain. The view overlooking the city is spectacular. I travel a lot. Vancouver is definitely a special place to visit, and not just because I grew up there. The natural beauty is breathtaking but don't leave your hotel without an umbrella. It's true to the stereotype. It rains there ... a lot.

Going to Vancouver in February for business, and I will have a few pockets of time. What should I try to see, do and eat? I won't have a car, so I'll be limited to cabs in the downtown area (near the convention center and the Fairmonts near the waterfront).

I would love a recommendation for a great bakery/cafe as well as some cozy restaurants for dinner.

Is there a cute or funny area for walking around/shopping?
