I have used the Fitbit app to track my food since it came out. I use the app and the device to aim for a deficit and this has helped me take off 25 pounds over 7 years ago and keep it off for that time.

I need to get moving. I have a sedentary, computer job and only small pockets of free time. No gym close by and no friends with similar schedules to be walking partners. Mostly what I need is motivation to get myself up and moving. I know the Fitbit phase has passed, but would that type of gadget work for me? Beyond being a glorified pedometer, what else does it do for you?
